Day 01 : Delhi
Arrive at Delhi and transfer to your hotel for the night.
Day 02 : Delhi
Orissa Tribal ToursStart a full-day tour of Old and New
Delhi after breakfast. DELHI, the capital of kingdoms and
empires is now a sprawling metropolis with a fascinating
blend of the past and the present. It is a perfect
introduction to the composite culture of an ancient land. A
window to the kaleidoscope - that is India. A sightseeing
tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting the Raj Ghat - the
memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated; Jama Masjid
- the largest mosque in India and the Red Fort - once the
most opulent fort and palace of the Moghul Empire. An
extensive sightseeing tour of New Delhi would include a
visit to the Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, a drive along
the ceremonial avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India
Gate, Parliament House, the President's Residence, Lotus
Temple and a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave.
Day 03 : Delhi - Raipur - Kawardha
In time transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to
Raipur. Upon arrival drive north wards to the former
Princely State of Kawardha. You will be shown to your Palace
suite before lunch in the State Dining room. An afternoon of
familiarisation with Palace Kawardha and nearby cultural
sites, including the captivating Bhoramdeo Temple complex.
You return to the Palace at sunset and then dinner.
Day 04 : Kawardha
After breakfast, you will meet the gentle and friendly Baiga
people, the indigenous forest tribe. Enjoy lunch with them.
Later return to the Palace and Proceed for a royal family
dinner.
Day 05 : Kawardha - Raipur - Kanker
In the morning drive to Kanker via Raipur and visit Raipur's
Mahant Ghasidas Museum before leaving for the former
princley State of Kanker. Upon arrival at Kanker Palace, the
Maharaja's family will greet you and show you to your
palatial rooms. Day 06 Kanker - Kondagaon - Narayanpur -
Kanker After your breakfast at the Palace, the Bastar tribal
experience begins. You will encounter here the special
nature of North Bastar with a visit to a colorful weekly
market. It gives you a great oportunity to meet the local
people. At Kondagaon and Narayanpur discover some of
Bastar's finest handicrafts, and the people who make them.
Lunch will be a picnic in the deep green sal forests.
Anearly evening dance by youthful members of Bastar's unique
'ghotul' dormitory system completes an unforgettable day
before a star - lit return to Kanker and a late dinner.
Day 06 : Kanker – Jagdalpur
After breakfast, leave for Jagdalpur, Bastar's main town and
former capital, three hours away. Checking in to a
comfortable local hotel, relax over leisure lunch. In the
afternoon, a royal guided tour of historical Jagdalpur and
the Anthropological Museum is completed by a sunset idyll at
the Chitrakote waterfal, Bastar's very own 'Niagara' on the
Indravati River: you will also visit some of the local Bison
- Horn Maria tribe, renowned for their spectacular
ceremonical dancing. Conditions permitting, a barbecue is
served under the stats in authentic Bastar style. You will
be entertained by a performance of the tribal people, before
returning to your hotel.
Day 07 : Jagdalpur - Kanger Valley National Park -
Jagdalpur
An early breakfast allows time for a visit to the rich
forests of the Kanger Valley National Park, the enchanting
Tirathgarh waterfall and the extraordinary stalactite and
stalagmite caves. Kanger retains the original intensity of
the forests that once covered this whole region, and you
will picnic in the natural habitat of leopard, tiger,
sambhar, bison and the Bastar Hill Myna. Here too are forest
tribal people in their natural habitat. There will be time
also to explore some of Jagdalpur's unique handicrafts
before dinner at the hotel with your royal guides.
Day 08 : Jagdalpur - Bissam Cuttack.
After breakfast drive to Bissam Cuttack. Check in at Nature
camp. Visit of the Desia Kondh village. Dinner and
overnight.
Day 09 : Rayagada - Chatikona - Rayagada - Jeypore
Breakfast. Later drive down to Chatikona weekly market of
the Dongariya Kondh people where you can see both men &
women decorate themselves in a similar way. This is a very
beautiful colourfull market on wednessday attended by the
Dongariya Kondh people of 34-36 villages of Niyamagiri
Hills.
Day 10 : Jeypore - Ankadelli - Jeypore
After early breakfast proceed to Ankadelli - 70 km to
witness the most primitive, interesting & unique tribal
weekly market of the Bonda tribes. The place is the border
of the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, divided by river
Machkund, with interest waterfall, mountain & forest.
You will be taken inside for about 2/3km walk to witness the
Bonda man & woman coming down from the forest side. It is
being considered that at present Bondas are the most
primitive tribe of India or otherwise known as the Nakate
tribes of the mountain. Bonda women with their silver &
brass rings around the neck, hundred of necklaces on the
body, shaved hair a small cloth wrapped down to cover half
of the private areas are out of any history book. In the
other side the Bonda men with their bow & arrow with country
made liquor. A fascinating one to watch. Photography in the
market is restricted, so you can take photo on this time.
Free time in the market. Afternoon proceed to Lamptaput area
to explore another primitive tribal community the Gdabas -
you can watch the most colorful tribal dance call DEMSA.
Late afternoon drive back to Jeypore.
Day 11 : Jeypore - Kunduli - Rayagada
After breakfast visit of Kunduli market of Paraja. You
witness the biggest tribal weekly market of Sanaparoja &
Mali tribes in Kunduli 65 km away via Sunabeda. It is a very
colorful market.Also Visit Jagannath Temple & Tribal Museum
at Koraput (The Jagannath Temple is a new temple built on
1972. Here Non Hindus are allowed inside the Temples and all
activities are similar to Jagnnath Temple of Puri). Lunch on
the way. Drive to Rayagada. Overnight at Rayagada.
Day 12 : Rayagada - Taptapani - Chilika
Breakfast. Proceed to Chilka. Visit Taptapani on your way.
Overnight at Chilka.
Day 13 : Chilika – Puri
Drive to Puri after breakfast. Reach Puri and relax in the
beach. Overnight at Puri.
Day 14 : Puri – Konarak – Bhubaneshwar
Proceed for a tour of Puri after breakfast covering Jagnnath
Temple and Konnark (The Sun Temple). Continue towards
bhubaneshwar and overnight.
Day 15 : Bhubaneshwar – Delhi – next destination
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Bhubaneshwar Airport to
board flight to Delhi and then onto your onward Destination.
